Engineered around advanced fluidics and precision control, the platform combines intelligent pump technology, powerful illumination, integrated laser functionality, and efficient vitrectomy performance to support safer, easier, and more efficient surgery.

At the core of the system is Oertli’s advanced 3-pump technology featuring Peristaltic, Venturi, and SPEEP pump options, allowing surgeons to optimize flow and vacuum control based on surgical preference and clinical requirements. The platform also integrates easyPhaco technology, Power LED illumination, Continuous Flow Cutter technology, and a fully integrated 532 nm endo laser for enhanced control and visualization during anterior and posterior segment procedures.

  • The proprietary SPEEP pump combines the advantages of peristaltic and venturi pump systems, allowing independent control of both flow and vacuum. Surgeons can precisely regulate aspiration and holding force directly through the foot pedal, improving control during fragment manipulation and challenging cases such as floppy iris syndrome or zonular weakness.

  • easyPhaco technology enables precise and efficient phacoemulsification with strong fragment followability and excellent chamber stability. The advanced fluidics system, optimized tip design, and six Piezo crystal handpiece allow targeted ultrasound energy delivery with reduced heat generation and efficient aspiration without fragment repulsion.

  • The OS 4 supports HFDS for minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Using high-frequency diathermy, the HFDS tip creates small sclerotomy pockets within the iridocorneal angle to improve aqueous outflow by bypassing trabecular meshwork resistance through Schlemm’s canal access.

  • The wireless dual-linear multifunctional pedal provides highly responsive and customizable control during surgery. Surgeons can configure over 100 pedal settings and assign six auxiliary buttons for workflow optimization. During endo laser procedures, the pedal instantly functions as a dedicated laser control pedal.

  • The OS 4 combines Peristaltic, Venturi, and SPEEP pump technologies within a single platform. Surgeons can select the preferred pump system for different procedures or store pump preferences within surgical programs. The SPEEP pump enables simultaneous independent control of flow and vacuum, even during occlusion, for enhanced surgical precision and efficiency.

  • The OS 4 features a 15-inch touchscreen with an intuitive graphical interface, rapid startup time of approximately 30 seconds, and voice confirmation in multiple languages. Additional workflow enhancements include temporary irrigation deactivation during retinal surgery and simplified navigation for both surgeons and OR staff.

  • The dual Power LED illumination system delivers bright, homogeneous surgical lighting with up to 45% greater light output than previous generations. The Power LED Plus allows customizable yellow and blue light spectrum mixing for enhanced visualization of fine tissue structures and improved contrast during surgery.

  • The fully integrated Swiss-made 532 nm endo laser supports retinal treatments including retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, and retinal vein occlusions. Automatic laser protection filters, integrated controls, customizable surgeon laser profiles, and compatibility with steerable laser probes enhance safety, precision, and workflow efficiency.

  • The OS 4 offers both active gas-driven infusion and gravity infusion systems to maintain stable intraocular pressure during surgery. Active infusion can rapidly respond to pressure changes up to 120 mmHg, while gravity infusion provides a reliable and economical alternative for anterior and posterior segment procedures.
