Features of the CataRhex 3

  • The proprietary SPEEP pump combines the advantages of peristaltic and venturi pump systems, allowing independent control of both flow and vacuum. Surgeons can precisely regulate aspiration and holding force directly through the foot pedal, improving control during fragment manipulation and challenging cases such as floppy iris syndrome or zonular weakness.

  • Oertli’s easyPhaco technology is designed for efficient and stable phacoemulsification. Its advanced fluidics concept improves fragment followability, holdability, and aspiration efficiency while maintaining stable intraocular pressure and anterior chamber stability. Compatible with incision sizes from 1.6 mm to 2.8 mm.

  • The CataRhex 3 supports HFDS for minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. The HFDS tip creates small sclerotomy pockets within the iridocorneal angle to improve aqueous outflow by bypassing trabecular meshwork resistance through Schlemm’s canal access.

  • The waterproof IPX6-rated multifunctional foot pedal provides precise linear control with four movement zones for aspiration, vacuum modulation, stored settings access, and function switching. Its compact and lightweight design allows efficient surgical workflow and responsive system control.

  • The irrigation and aspiration instruments feature elongated shafts for improved sub-incisional access and optimized aspiration port positioning to reduce unintended capsular grasping. Combined with the SPEEP pump, the Safety Design enhances chamber stability and surgical control.

  • HF capsulotomy utilizes high-frequency energy to create controlled capsular openings without manual tearing. It is especially useful in difficult cataract cases including hypermature, traumatic, intumescent, and juvenile cataracts, as well as situations involving narrow pupils or rhexis complications.

  • The CataRhex 3 features rapid startup, front-access instrument connections with color coding, bright pivotable displays, programmable surgeon profiles, and optional infusion pole and instrument trays. Its streamlined interface and ergonomic design simplify surgical setup and workflow efficiency.
